I have listened to all types of comments from residents expressing their views about what the Town of Clayton is doing right or wrong. I discovered that there are many people interested in the same things as me: grow Clayton's business community; a stronger focus on roads, parks and schools; and an increase in communication between citizens and their government. I hope to put all comments to good use by representing Clayton's residents and providing for their needs.

 Primary Issues:

  • Grow Clayton’s business community while balancing downtown events that attract potential new residents - and revenue.

  • Offer incentives to new businesses to locate in the community, such as short-term business tax free zones, discounted fees and permits. Existing businesses in the community can also benefit from these incentives to help them expand/grow.

  • Push for our town to be more business-friendly and encourage business investment in our community. Our town needs new business and commercial growth to bring in revenue and help reduce our property taxes as well as added job opportunities.

  • Focus on investments for our existing roads, water and sewer systems, and infrastructure.

  • Transparency of the town government is a must. All town council meetings should be live streamed and broadcast on the public TV access channel.

  • Streamline our building permits and planning processes.

  • Maintain Clayton’s small-town charm as our community continues to grow.

  • Provide jobs through successful economic development initiatives.

  • Continue to build strong relationships with regional governments.

  • Term limits for elective officials.

  • Work towards resolving parking problems on Main Street and traffic congestion on Hwy 70.

  • Listen to and engage the public, ask for input, and make feedback an integral element of moving forward. Clayton’s greatest asset is its people. Town Councilors must always remember that they serve the public and cannot take that public for granted.

I would truly appreciate your vote and thank you, in advance, for the privilege of representing you. I am always looking for new and creative solutions to the challenges that face our town, and I want to hear from you.
